-------------------------------------------------
The association was established in 1996 by committed residents of both areas. It was set up to provide a range of activities for members and to encourage a spirit of self-help and the use of their energy, talents, skills, knowledge and experience to the benefit of each other and the community in general, and also, to encourage a positive attitude to ageing and retirement.
A Committee, volunteers from the membership, is made up as follows:-
Sub- Committee responsible for art, bowls and whist.
We are affiliated to Active Retired Ireland and pay a fee of €5 per annum out of an annual membership subscription of €15.
The Members of the Committee try to attend all regional meetings, AGM of ARI and Older & Bolder Seminars, etc. and share this information with our members at our monthly meetings held on the 1st Tuesday of every month, except August. We discuss upcoming events and endeavour to have a relevant speaker or demonstration at each meeting.
